Blue Jays Roundup: Golf team going to State, Dillman leads Jays

JAMESTOWN — Only six of the West Region's 12 golf teams get the chance to compete at State.

Jamestown is one of the six.

The Blue Jays wound up finishing fourth at the West Region Meet on May 28, finishing with a team score of 313. Bismarck Century defended its West Region Tournament title shooting a team score of 303. Century sophomore Parker Beck earned top-honors with a four-under round of 68.

Jamestown was led by senior Jace Dillman who shot a 74 to tie for fifth place. Luke LeFevre also placed within the top-10 carding a 76 which landed him in a tie for eighth place overall. Hunter Gegelman, Vaughn Romsdal Nate Walz and Griffin Gegelman all finished in the 80s, shooting an 80, 83, 83 and 87 respectively.

The Class A State Golf Meet will be held at Minot's Vardon Golf Club. The two-day affair will begin on June 3 and will conclude on June 4.
