“I give it 45% chance” – Fabrizio Romano on Chelsea chances of pulling off top signing

Transfer expert has given Chelsea a 45% chance of pulling off one big new signing during this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea trying to get Maignan deal done

The Blues want to sign Mike Maignan for AC Milan this window and ideally before the Club World Cup. However, all the latest reports would suggest that this one isn’t looking overly positive right now.

It was reported yesterday that Milan have rejected Chelsea’s opening offer for Maignan as both sides dig their heels in on the price.

Romano on the Maignan deal

Fabrizio Romano has put his latest out on Maignan now as well, with his info coming out late last night via X.

He believes there is a 45% chance of Chelsea landing Maignan this summer as things stand.

He says:

“Time is running out for Mike Maignan because from my understanding, Chelsea are not going to wait longer than 24/48 hours, because they want him for the CWC. It’s up to Milan to accept Chelsea conditions or not. I give it a 45% chance, as of tonight.”

Ekitike wanted too

Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt is also wanted by Chelsea right now but this one doesn’t look to positive at the moment either.

It looks like Chelsea want to bring another new striker in this window but as well as that, they are closing on a deal to sign winger Jamie Gittens from Dortmund too as they get super busy in the market now.

Romano has said over the weekend that this one is now a matter of when and not if it will happen. He’s pretty convinced on this one.

The transfer deadline ends on June the 10th and then it will open again on June the 16th to run through the rest of the summer.
