11 years of Modi govt: ‘Never seen PM who lies so much’, says Kharge; calls for accountability on key issues

NEW DELHI: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming he has never seen a prime minister who lies so much, deceives people and secures votes by trapping them.Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, Kharge criticised PM as he marked 11 years in office."I have been saying this in Parliament for a long time, and I have never seen a Prime Minister who lies so much, makes so many mistakes, traps people, deceives the youth, and takes votes by trapping people,” said the Congress president.“He has lied about everything, and not even one has been implemented."He further alleged that Prime Minister Modi avoids answering questions on important national issues. "When we ask him, he does not have any answer, whether it is about demonetisation, unemployment, or MSP, there are so many such issues. He just keeps on saying one thing after the other and says that his 11 years are over," he added.Talking about the caste census in Karnataka, Kharge said the state government would retain the criteria set by the earlier Siddaramaiah government, which included socio-economic factors.

However, since the existing data is 10 years old, a new survey is needed.“The survey has to be done because it is 10 years old. In 10 years, many people have joined ST, SC and OBC,” he said.On Tuesday, Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar announced that the caste census would be redone to address doubts raised by different communities about the accuracy of the earlier data.
